 Yes, you read it right “tips to cut off social media”.
 We all are living in an era where social media is just a part of life, where it was meant for acknowledgment and entertainment purpose. Somewhere or other we all are addicted to it, accept it or not but it’s true.

Now the question comes, why one has to cut off social media? It is an integral part of our life, from morning to night, our each and every activity is linked with it.
But isn’t itself should be a reason to cut it off for a while? 
Now, let’s think about it. We all are a generation of 21st century, our fastest moving life needs it. NO DOUBT.
But somewhere, we are missing a lot of things, don’t you feel?
Like, when we are out with our friends or family, spending our precious moments with them. We do think that we are spending time with them, the reality is contrasting. We stay busy in our devices; clicking photographs, making videos, editing , putting graphics, designing, trying to make it look grand and special when it is not so.

We miss out precious moments with our loved ones, in recording moments, instead of living those moments and creating memories in our hearts.

Now, you tell. What is more important “recording moments or living up those moments”?
We record to relive our moments, but you can relive your moments only if you have lived it earlier otherwise that’s just a screen roll like a movie, that’s it.

This is the problem of this social media era, forget about the other consequences of indulging too much in it. Those unproductive hours, poor concentration, etc. I am not talking about them, but that which we usually don’t pay attention too.

In this Instagram era, we are busy in recording moments instead of living it. Isn’t it true?


Let’s try out an experiment then, prove me wrong. Take a break at least for a day or for a week, if possible off this device which you carry with you the whole day. Use it only for emergency that too just call and text. Ahmm… it seems to be difficult but trust me, it won’t be so.
You will observe lot many things which you never did before. In order to help you in doing so, I’m here with a few tips:

1.                  Put on some music, when you feel like getting bored.



Music itself has some healing qualities, like stress, boredom, etc. In short one can say it is a medicine for our psychology.

2.                  Take a tour.



Take a tour outside the state, city or country as you feel like. This will not only reduce stress but will also keep you busy.

3.                  Get indulge in family gossips, you won’t realize how much time you spent.

Our ancestors used to do it, in their free time. Why not we too try it? Why to only depend on standup comedians and stars to entertain us? We can do it on our own too.

4.   Play outdoor games.
Get indulge in some sport activities, not only beneficial for physical health but also reduces stress and anxiety disorders.

5.                  Spend some time with elderly people or with toddlers.


  This is the best thing one can do. They are the ones who can teach you a lot about life, much much more than a book. They themselves are novels and are the best coaches of life.

6.                  Plan some get together, instead contacting your friends online.



Rather than being just online friends and a normal formality type chit chat. A get together will be a good idea.

7.                  Observe, this world outside. Outside this social media, outside this device.


We do miss lot many things in our surroundings when we are busy with our mobiles, observe around; you will get to know lot many new things.
8.                  Try out something new.


Those start up new ideas; where do they come from? Just a spark of an idea of trying something new. Find it out, you may be the next entrepreneur.

9.                  Read.


One of the best thing, read. Nothing can replace reading. Read as much as you can, novels, books, articles, magazines, whatever you wish. Wait, let me clarify. By read, I didn’t mean studying. That’s a different aspect.

10.         Spend quality time with your loved ones.


By quality time, I mean no other distraction like clicking, editing. Etc.
11.         Keep yourself busy.

The more you will keep yourself buys, your urge to open up your social media apps will be less.

Everything which we try for the first time was difficult and is to. But that never proves them impossible. Try them out, if you come across any new tip just mention in the comment section.
